Hello Fall,
Yay, you’re here and we love it!
Love,
Ashley
Every year families from all over get excited for holiday and seasonal traditions. When Fall comes, it’s time to toss on the chuck Taylor’s, hit the drive thru at Dunkin’ Donuts and head to the apple orchard. This is our 3rd year taking V. Unfortunately the first year she was born events lead us to not be able to get out and apple pick but we still got pumpkins and decorated of course. Her first year and second year were a success. We haven’t had a bad experience apple picking yet, cross our fingers they keep going smoothly.
The main game for V is to eat as many apples as she can pick while her father and I fill the bag. Whatever keeps a smile on her face, puts a smile right on ours. I don’t know what I love most, the apple cider donuts, the fall air or all of the families being together to take part in this tradition. It all fills my little old heart with joy and excites me beyond belief. I feel like a child again, however I don’t really remember apple picking as a child I’m sure if I did go it was a blast! I think that’s why I want to make each year the best for my daughter and why I enjoy it so much… the memories!
This year the pumpkin patch was poppin’ and the new place we chose was slammed. Where we got dropped after apple picking on the hay ride was kind of far away and V was asking for lunch. So we decided to make the day a two part day with a much needed Outback Steakhouse break in between. Everyone loves a bloomin’ onion!
We picked our apples, did the hay ride and of course indulged in apples and donuts. Then we headed down the road to Outback and ate our little Aussie hearts out. We decided to head back to a small farm store in the next town over to get our pumpkins. The store is a favorite of mine, since I was a little girls. They had music playing, families sitting around eating freshly popped kettle corn and all the pumpkins to choose from. Just what the doctor ordered, a giant one for the front and quite a few littles for around the house!
The day ended with a tired mom may or may not have taken a cat nap after scattering pumpkins around the house. It was a day I can always look back on and say we had a great time.
I always think it’s cool to look at old photos and compare them to new ones so I’m going to share some from previous years and this year!
Happy pumpkin picking!🎃
