One word, “GO“.
I’m not one hundred percent a crazy ride person so I never really gave Universal Studios a fair shot, until recently.. Our trip to Orlando last month included one of the best days we’ve had as a family at the two Universal theme parks. I could go back daily and not get tired of it.
I’m one for exploring and sight seeing most of all. I am always fascinated by the design and architectural aspects of the parks which sounds strange to some but to me, normal.
I love walking into each part of the park feeling like I’m a character in the movie. It’s the most exciting feeling to just plain old imagine. This year however I decided I was going to put on my big girl pants and get on some of the rides I had my eyes set on. I do not and I repeat do not do anything that goes upside down or backwards! This trip I was all about having fun with my daughter but also enjoying myself as well.

My kid brother who is not so much a kid, he’s 17, is obsessed with any and every ride in the world. The bigger and the faster the ride is the more he will want to go on it. I try to be the cool big sister and hop on a few rides with him but he knows my do’s and don’t so he mapped out some top picks for us and some great things for my little lady! What a great uncle!
There are two parks side by side so for me to sit here and break down every single ride and attraction for you guys would be absurd. Instead I’ll share some pictures from of our fav spots on the maps + MY MUST SEE SPOT!
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
First and foremost for everyone, if you’ve never been to and experienced The WWHP you need to go! I was pretty much a little kid in a candy shop! I’m a big fan of the movies but I honestly don’t even think you need to be a fan of the movies to get lost in the magic. I actually went on all the rides here (definitely let out some screams and got dizzy) but the best part for me was taking the train ride just like in the movie! If you have a Park-to-Park admission ticket, you can board and ride the Hogwarts™ Express from either King’s Cross Station in London at Universal Studios Florida™ and travel to Hogsmeade™ Station in Universal’s Islands of Adventure™, or ride the other way around for a different experience.
i still can’t see this and not laugh and V’s face on the train 😂
Clearly you can see my obsession and guess the must see spot on the list. This is fun because there’s an experience for Harry Potter in each park!
Jurassic Park
Walking in through the Jurassic Park entrance and hearing roars from dinosaurs and spotting all over of different species of dinosaurs and the jeeps from the movies! Fan girl moment! They even play the Jurassic Park theme song! Yes!
&& a shot from King Kong …
and a few more factories spots and photos..
For my 3 year old daughter the highlights at Universal Studios/ Island of Adventure we’re seeing Poppy and the Shrek 4-D encounter which was fun for the whole family! We enjoyed these rides for her there as well;
- Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster
- Kang & Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl
- Flight of the Hippogriff
- The Cat In The Hat
-
The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride
-
Shrek 4D
-
Hogwarts Express
There is certainly something for everyone at Universal Orlando Resort and family time is the best one!
EXCELLENT photographs.. 😮😍

Thank you!!
I am dying to go!! It would take me almost 20 hours to get there but my kids are huge fans of Harry Potter and so am I. And the boys dream about going to Jurassic Park! We have seriously been considering going in the summer! it would be a huge thing cause we would go and rent a house and stay for a couple of weeks. But as you said, it’s good enough to go to daily lol.

I totally think this is something you should look into. It would take about 20 hours to drive but we always fly. My friends did it two years back and stayed about 11 days and said it was just as well worth it 🙂 !!! Hope you guys get to go. Harry Potter is the best ever!!!!
Beautiful I live in Orlando Florida I took my son there all the time
