I have to admit being a mom on instagram has changed me in some aspects but I honestly would say for the better.
You tend to see things on instagram that others have and probably will want many of those things. Whether it be as simple as a floral sundress or as drastic as a kitchen remodel, we are only human and it’s normal to want things.
Yes, I do think we should all be grateful for what we have and know that someone else may want what we have got. Yes, I know we were born all unique individuals and self love is extremely important. I’m not telling you to ignore the electric bill and splurge on a shopping spree for the sake of your blog. I’m telling you it’s normal to desire.
Don’t tell me you don’t sit on Pinterest or walk aimlessly through target with no real motive to being there, just to scope out the goods and think about how good that new lamp would look next to the couch in the den. We are human.
Instagram has taught me to not want out of jealousy but to set goals for myself and reach them. To love what I have and who I am by taking care of.
Just a few positive things I have done for my body thus far..
- Started using a probiotic
- Stated using a daily spf + moisturizer
- I take care of my nails so they are not brittle and falling apart (photo worthy and healthy now)
- Drinking tea that helps cleanse my body
- Making healthier dinners inspired by friends
I’m not making these things up either I seriously do all of them and love how it makes me feel.
I buy clothes to show off, who doesn’t?..but I never splurge and it’s the last priority of course! But looking good make me feel good.
I don’t always put make up on to leave the house but I do try to take better care of myself now so that if I do need to leave the house the hot mess express isn’t the one pulling out of them.
Self care wasn’t always a huge thing for me and prior to my homes with my family we didn’t even have a decoration on the wall. But nowadays I’m taking better care of myself and loving putting touches on our home. I enjoy the simple life and nothing is ever extravangent.
Seeing people on vacations makes me work harder at what I do to be able to go on these vacations! My teeth are whiter than ever which helped me overcome a lifelong insecurity, my floors are typically clean and my skin isn’t cracked and itchy. I can’t complain.
I don’t spend too much time on the internet and it’s always when V is taken care of or asleep. I have a blast on instagram connecting with other moms and business owners sharing their journeys.
I wrote this because I think so many people get caught up in the attempt to make it seem like life is perfect. Instead I am just learning from everyone and shedding a positive light on what you can make of this amazing world.
Happy blogging!
Happy insta•momming!
Happy tweeting!
I just went through and read some of you blogs. You have a very soft, eloquent writing style. Hey, guys can learn a lot about women by listening and paying attention…this I know. So I don’t mind reading what women talk about. It makes me a better man. Anyhow, keep it up. I appreciate you liking my latest blog post. I spent a year writing on a blogspot.com and decided to come here and get more in-depth and gain followers. Good luck on future blogs. I’ll be following along…
