How do I decide what to blog about?

I come up with an idea and for a quick second & then I write… sometimes while writing I admit I’m like OMG can I even say that on a ‘mom blog’.. but guess what? It’s my site and I’ll do what I want.

“It’s my site and I’ll do what I want.”

We are all different yet still so much alike so shouldn’t that be easy to just write and relate? You can only hope your voice stands out but also that you don’t stand out for the wrong reasons. Yeah, I’ll probably cover topics that all moms can relate to at times, which is my goal. Yes, I will cover products that all moms probably love. Yes, I’ll talk fashion, I’ll talk the flu and I’ll talk this that and the next thing..

Everyone is over the top worried about what everyone else wants to read or see or competing with others that they forget that it should be about what you want to write about, to share about. I always want to write about something that another person, even one person can relate to but I also want to just write. It’s a viral diary. An audience will not indulge fully and emotionally in a piece that they feel is written off a list of “go to titles” they found on Pinterest but rather a heartfelt piece or a piece with purpose.

You’ll find sometimes and by sometimes I mean mostly all of the time aka all the time I write sporadically. It’s not on a schedule although I wished it would be sometimes. It not always because I can’t come up with something (although there are plenty of times I can’t). BUT ITS DEFINITELY not because I’m worried about not getting views or likes or comments, it’s because I need my posts to truly reflect me and my life. I’m not the type of person that has ever had a filter. As a matter of fact, I am a pretty unfiltered person. I speak my mind but I never disrespect.

“I speak my mind but I never disrespect”.

So I just want to keep it as real as possible. I won’t pretend to know about things I seriously know nothing about, EVER!

I will always have the fun topics about favorite products that I love because I truly believe that they are great and want to share.

I will always have the stories about vacations and the complicated chaos that surrounds the beautiful memories.

I will always have blog posts that randomly pop up to talk about what is on my mind and most of the time they are going to be my favorite.

I will always write to you exactly what it sounds like in my mind. I type as I think as if I would just be talking out loud. I do not go back and an edit to add flavor because you cannot go back and change what you said at a given time.

I will always have something to say, I will always be honest and I will always listen to what you have to say back. I blog because it gives me a platform to share a little about myself and my family and it just feels so damn good to get it out 100% of the time.

We all have run ins at the playground. We all have nights of no sleep followed by long days that never want to end. At the end of the day, I just want a place to let it out and relate to anyone and everyone who wants to listen!

End rant 😉

  1. I totally agree, I haven’t been blogging for long but I realized that there are a lot of things you aren’t supposed to say when doing a mom blog and then I realize the same thing, it’s my blog and I can say whatever I want, I always try to stress it’s just my opinion and be kind to everyone but I also just say what I want because at the end of the day, it’s my blog, my place to rant and rave. Awesome blog by the way.

    1. You are too sweet! Thank you so much!! I totally thought that in the world of mom blogging you needed to be perfect. Then I realized everyone will find a reason to judge the perfectly perfect or the imperfectly perfect so being yourself is the only way to go! Let it all out love! The world needs honesty!!
