It’s warmer in Sitka, Alaska

Okay people, here comes the chief complaint from pretty much anyone and everyone I speak to & come in contact with… WHERE IS SPRING?

New England native yes I am so I know that the weather here has a mind of its own but seriously, it’s April and it’s 30 degrees and we have a winter weather advisory.

I dream of days where I can be barefoot eating a burger with my little one running around as free as can be in the yard. Instead, we’ve had winter forever and no signs of spring. The weatherman played an evil trick on us showing us that there would be a 70 degree day only to bring a mere mid 50 day! Okay, so I may sound like a whiny little kid throwing a tantrum.. but guess what? I’m cool with that!

I had plans, big plans but instead I went to a Red Sox game when it was a warm and sunny 38 degrees to become numb before the first pitch (although the Sox are the Sox🙌🏻). I planned a bbq and a trip to the zoo that got stomped on by Mother Nature.

However, with all of this complaining comes the best news ever! We are finally venturing out of here and headed South. Give me 11 days and I’ll be in warmer weather with sights of green and I couldn’t wait.

So to those of you who are like okay, she’s taken a step back from blogging.. you’re right! But not by choice. I just planned on writing about all of these amazing things and then BAM! Shattered. So here’s to fun stuff to come and hopefully if I keep doing my spring is coming dance, it’ll come.

  1. I can relate! We’re in Upstate NY (actual Upstate, not Westchester, haha) & have the same problem. I keep looking longingly at my barren garden. At least we have daffodils in bloom, but that says more about how much heat we lose through the foundation of our old house than it does about the weather!
