A Winter Afternoon at the Farm : Billings Farm & Museum.

On a little girls trip up to a Woodstock, Vermont and we are already in-love with the area.

It was a warm winter day for us New Englanders, around 50 degrees to give you an idea. Perfect for getting outdoors and exploring. We headed out early this morning and drove right to Woodstock. First stop on mini vacay itinerary was Billings Farm & Museum. The resort where we are spending our time away from home highly recommended the farm as it would be a perfect activity for the whole family but one my daughter would love most. I do think we all loved it the same, for the record.

We started out by being greeted at the Farm by a worker who informed us of the fun things to do and see. We were eager to head over to see the horses and ride on the sleigh, so that’s exactly what we did. The sleigh ride was perfect for V. They had little blankets inside for chilly winter weather and it was about a 5 minute ride around.

Afterwards, we headed into the farm to see the animals. Goats, sheep, pigs and cows. Me, I was obsessed. Farm animals are my favorite. V and mom also loved to see the wet piggy snouts and the 45+ cows who were so friendly and docile. We watched the cows chomp on their lunch and even got to pet the babies who were so cute! I had never been so close to a cow and couldn’t believe how soft they were. We then went over to meet the other horses who had the most personality.

After seeing the animals and walking around the museum, there were crafts set up for the little ones and an adorable play area complete with a play grocery store and wooden toys. We then headed into the gift shop where we picked up some cowtails (the candies) and a prize for V.

If you’re in the area, be sure to check out Billings Farm & Museum. We loved our visit and thank everyone who assisted in our fun day!

A special thank you for V’s new books you gifted her. We will always remember our day at the farm!
