Our Fav Apps for Kids.

So we are in quarantine, which means for some, we are on our own when it comes to encouraging our children’s learning. Most of us didn’t graduate with a degree in education and although we are parents, keeping kids entertained 24-7 isn’t the easiest. For a lot of us we may already be SAHM certified or have a few tricks up our sleeves but activities run out and the days seem a bit longer when you’re forced to stay home.

Of course, getting outdoors when the weather permits is our favorite way to adventure and learn. However, weather isn’t always on our side. For this, I’ve rounded up my favorite apps for kids to keep them busy! I’ve shared most of these apps on my social media platforms but some not. So here is our round up of what we have been living while home!

With Elephant Learning my daughter has not only begun to learn math but she’s having a blast while doing it. She is eager to learn which at 4.5 years old I never expected. They make it fun for kids and it’s easy to use. She’s showing improvement with each module.

It runs about $35 per month, I have written another blog post just on this exact app so check it out here.

We love Kidoodle.TV and have it on our televisions as well as tablets and phones, covering all the ways to watch. With all of the worrying of what our kids are watching I can always trust what she is choosing on Kidoodle. Kidoodle.TV offers over 15,000 episodes of safe children’s content which you can watch on over 1000 devices, such as Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku & connected TV’s. Keep an eye on your children with what they watch while being stress free with Kidoodle.TV!

To find out more check out more about our experience with the app check out my blog piece.

ABC Mouse is by far one of the favorite apps we have used. It has V learning her letters, the sounds they make, words they are used to start and all while she gets to play fun games. Each letter has a set amount of projects she does, music videos to go with the letter/ topic and coloring sheets along with little interactive games to basically test what they are learning. She asks every single day to go on ABC Mouse and I’ve never been so happy to see her so eager to learn and have fun. It’s $9.95 a month with the first month free!

Vooks is an interactive story telling app that essentially will read the story books along to your children as they can view the pages. It makes for a great quiet time activity that I can trust that she will be safe and enjoy while doing so! Vooks is 4.99 a month with the first month free!

Okay, last but certainly not least! Everyone’s favorite, Disney Plus! This is the perfect App for the whole family. The nostalgia has brought comfort to our family during this time especially. We are doing family movie nights and never running out of things to watch. It has the current Disney favorite shows and shorts, out of the vault Disney movies and even Disney original movies that I grew up watching. Everything from Cinderella, to Doc McStuffins to Boy Meets World, it has you covered for entertainment and togetherness with the whole family.

For only $6.99 a month you’ll have every Disney show and movie you could possibly need at the click of a button. Plenty of popcorn is recommended!

Great post! We are definitely using Disney Plus at this time. And, the good news is that parents don’t need a degree in education to teach their children or facilitate natural learning. It’s a great time for life skills.

I couldn’t agree more! Today we planted plants that we will move outdoors when it’s nicer and baking is a favorite too! It’s a great time to learn about our children and for them to learn about us!
